Insherah Musa is an accomplished Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) specialist with over 20 years of experience in humanitarian and development settings. A licensed clinical psychologist in Jordan, she has held senior technical and leadership roles across multiple international organizations and crisis contexts.

Insherah served as an MHPSS Specialist with UNFPA Iraq for three years, where she led the integration of MHPSS into gender-based violence, youth, and sexual and reproductive health services. She also worked with IOM Iraq to strengthen institutional capacity for delivering MHPSS services under the Yazidi Survivors’ Law. In addition, she has provided technical support to UNFPA in Syria and Ukraine and to WHO in Sudan, focusing on MHPSS in emergency settings.

Earlier in her career, Insherah spent nine years with the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) in Jordan as a psychosocial team leader, followed by three years as Country Director for Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Jordan. She is currently the Country Director of Free to Run Iraq, supporting programs that empower adolescent girls and young women through sports and leadership development.

Alongside her operational roles, Insherah founded Sokoon Training and Consultation Center to deliver technical support and staff care services to humanitarian workers. Sokoon has since expanded its reach in Jordan, Iraq, Türkiye, Syria, Palestine, and globally. Insherah trained and licensed in CBT EMDR NET Art Therapy and work with clients experiencing variety of psychological disorders. She is also a co-founder of the Jordanian Clinical Psychologists Association.

Insherah holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Jordan. She is in the final stages of completing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Girne American University.
